Design and develop IoT devices for challenging African environments. Work on everything from circuit design to firmware to manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Design and prototype IoT hardware devices
- Develop firmware for embedded systems
- Select and integrate sensors and communication modules
- Optimize for power consumption and durability
- Conduct testing and certification processes
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners
- Debug and resolve hardware issues
- Document designs and specifications
- Support field deployments and maintenance
Requirements
- 3+ years of hardware/embedded systems experience
- Strong understanding of electronics and circuit design
- Experience with PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad, Eagle)
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems
- Experience with microcontrollers (ESP32, STM32, Arduino)
- Understanding of wireless protocols (LoRa, BLE, WiFi, GSM)
- Knowledge of power management and solar systems
- Experience with sensor integration
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes
